A few months ago, in conjunction with the rapid spread of the Corona epidemic, which has infected more than a million people around the world, all governments issued resolutions emphasizing the need to implement a "remote work" or "work from home" system to reduce the spread of the epidemic. Institutions and organizations have complied, and more than 70% of corporate employees work from home. But, with adverse effects on domestic and global economies today, these exceptions may not last long. Especially, as businessmen, corporate and factories owners pressure to return to production soon to salvage. So you may be one of the employees who will have to return to the workplace in the Corona crisis.

Of course, once the epidemic is over, life will not return, and the risk of Coronavirus infection (KVID-19) will not vanish. We will witness an apparent change in all respects and across all sectors, and we should live with the virus for quite some time; the COVID-19 may pose a continuing threat until an effective vaccine emerges.

It is obvious that we are all in an exceptional period that poses many challenges in terms of health, family, work, and personal relations, as well as financial and other difficulties. Therefore, it is important to understand how to adapt to the work environment in the Corona days and to follow the necessary procedures to make the work environments productive, healthy, and safe in the time of the Corona pandemic.

9 Tips for adaptation to the work environment in the time of Corona

The following are the most important precautions to take at the workplace to keep you and the people around, both employees and individuals, healthy.

1. Handwashing

The World Health Organization recommends washing hands continuously with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Or using a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% Alcohol. Keeping hands clean is the most effective way to protect against the infection of Coronavirus.

2. Avoid Mass Transportation

Stay away from the mass transportation of employees and workers! Some of the main ways to the virus spread are by transferring from person to person, and by touching contaminated surfaces. Use other means such as cars, where continuous sterilization and social distancing can be maintained.

3. Sanitize Desks and Surfaces

Observe the procedures for sterilization and continuous disinfection. Various sterilizers, such as disinfectant wipes and sterile alcohol sprays, should be available to clean surfaces such as keyboards and doorknobs continuously.

Did you know? The office, where you work and meet with colleagues and eat, has 800 bacteria per square inch, approximately 14 times more than the toilet seat.

4. Shake Hands with Your Heart

Applying social distancing is a necessary step to reduce the spread of the Coronavirus. Be sure to stick to it in all cases. Take gestures or smile as a greeting way instead of handshaking or embracing your co-workers. Make sure you are far enough away from anyone.

5. Reduce Overcrowding

The number of people in one place should be limited; employees can work in rotational shifts or from home. Staff can take the break time throughout the day to avoid being present in the lounge rooms or the closed kitchens at the same time, which makes it easier to transmit infections. Make sure that no more than five people are in one place, and that social distancing is maintained.

6. Remote Meeting

"Meet" Online! Experience the effectiveness of virtual meetings (with audio and video). Replace face-to-face meetings in closed rooms with electronic communication.

7. Bring Your Tools

Be sure to bring your own tools, such as pens, paper towels, and sterilizing alcohol, and not share them with others to avoid contacting surfaces that become contaminated when being touched by an infected person.

8. Do not use Your hands

The first reason for being infected is touching contaminated surfaces or infected people. Avoid using your hands when touching the Elevator or lighting button, doorknobs, and so on. Paper towels are preferred, and gloves are not preferred because they may contribute to spreading or getting infected with the virus when touching the face while they are contaminated.

9. Stay at home

Do not go to work when you feel tired or notice Corona's initial symptoms, such as coughing or fever. You should stay at home and ask for working remotely.

These were the essential tips for adaptation to the working environment in the time of Corona.  May God keep you all safe.
