The Emirate authorities have announced more challenging Covid-19 steps in Dubai in effect since the beginning of February and would be expanded till the beginning of Ramadan in mid-April.
Bars and pubs will stay closed, although restaurants and cafes will also be forced to shut by 1 a.m. The length of the outage, stores, restaurants, pools, and private beaches will run at 70% capacity. The size of internal seating facilities, such as cinemas and sporting and entertainment venues, must be reduced to 50 percent.
Dubai's Supreme Committee made Crisis and Emergency Management action, chaired by Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. It was based on an appraisal of the emerging Covid-19 situation, evidence illustrating the efficacy of improved protection initiatives, and frontline authority' guidelines.
Based on a leading daily, healthcare professionals said the "wise decision" will help curb the virus's spread on multiple levels. Dr. Ravi Arora, the internal medicine specialist at NMC Specialty Hospital Abu Dhabi, said: "The decision to extend Covid-19 safety restrictions till mid-April is a welcome move from multiple perspectives. This would permit containment of the communicability of the virus while mass vaccinations continue in the backdrop. This break of viral infectivity is paramount, more so since the global spread of the variant strains is gaining a stronger foothold. Hence, a drop in infectivity coupled with a vaccination-induced rise in herd immunity is our best bet to beat the virus."
The country's reaction to the pandemic, according to the commission, is part of an orchestrated strategy. Praising the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) performance and the Ministry of Health and Prevention in organizing counter-pandemic initiatives, added that local and international trends would continue to be tracked to guarantee an ideal result.
