Kuwait’s goal to finalize vaccination campaigns of all Kuwaiti citizens by September this year is subject to the availability of vaccines in the country.

Post opening of two new Covid-19 centers in Al-Naseem and Al-Masayel – Kuwait’s health ministry set high hopes to complete the vaccination of 300,000 people per month.

Kuwait’s government also strives to provide 850,000 citizens with vaccine doses – And that is to be determined when vaccines are available.

Just like other Arab countries in the region – Kuwait has taken the measures to meet supply with demand of vaccine doses where it has sealed deals with various vaccine producers; doses distributed by Pfizer-BioNTech to be supplied each week while Oxford-AstraZeneca will be supplied in much bigger numbers.

According to media reports, Kuwait’s health minister added “ This step of adding two new facilities for vaccination services will significantly increase the Gulf nation’s vaccination capacity to reach 20,000 doses per day, but then again if the vaccines are available.” – Depending on how the global demand for vaccines plays out.

Covid-19 total of cases in Kuwait has reached approximately 189,000 since the pandemic has started, while 177,000 have recovered and 1072 of total cases are fatal.
