Bahrain to Ease COVID-19 Measures as New Cases Numbers Have Fallen

As the number of coronavirus cases declines, Bahrain relaxed some of its prohibitions on Sunday, encouraging people to eat inside restaurants and reopening educational institutions to students.

Since late January, restaurants and cafes have been limited to deliver meals, but now they will open with no more than 30 customers at a time, according to the ministry of health.

Swimming pools and athletic fields are permitted to reopen on Sunday, but social events of more than 30 people in private homes and venues remain forbidden.

Officials from the Ministry of Health advised people to get vaccinated and to continue to exercise social distancing and handwashing.

Daily case numbers have fallen from a mid-February peak of 896 following a steady rise since December.
